IF YOU look around you, you’ll probably see many objects made of glass. Some of them may be transparent (see-through) – such as windows, and drinking glasses – and some may be colourful – such as vases or stained-glass windows.
Glass is versatile due to its strength, transparency, resistance to heat, chemicals and electricity, and its ability to be shaped.
But unlike wood or stone, for example, glass doesn’t occur naturally – it has to be made.
