AS A child Elizabeth loved dressing up and as she grew older that sense of style morphed into a timeless sense of fashion.
Blessed with a wasp-like waist in her younger days, the queen could pull off virtually any style, from ballgowns to pencil skirts.
In her golden years her signature look became the button-up coat dress accessorised with a matching hat, gloves and pearls. She favoured bright colours and there was a practical reason for this – it was so she could be more visible.
