Heads you lose

AVE YOU EVER wondered what happens when you hit your head during a fall, or if you sustain an impact to your head from something else, like a stray hoof when handling a horse on the ground? Through understanding what happens when our head is involved in an accident, the need for riding hats is brought into very sharp focus, and this is an issue that is being highlighted during the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA)’s Summer of Safety campaign, a nationwide initiative which aims to keep everyone safer in and out of the saddle.
