What prompted you to take up painting?

Painting and drawing horses is something I have done non-stop since I could hold a pencil. I don’t know where the obsession came from because I grew up on an island in the Caribbean with few horses around, and my parents weren’t riders either. It must be in the blood. Even when I was at art school painting human portraits, I knew that I really only wanted to paint horses.
