Mike Oldfield’s album (1973) famously gave its insidious theme. Non-demonic feats of physical contortion accompany the music in this misshapen film of a live reinterpretation, shot in London. With Oldfield absent, centre stage is taken by Circa, a dance troupe whose gymnastic dexterity interprets the slick, if somewhat drab, nine-piece band’s rearrangement. It’s an odd pairing, and it’s often hard to see what Circa’s acrobatic spectacle adds to Oldfield’s acid-prog inner voyage.
