want to be mysterious, I want to be revealing,” Courtney Marie Andrews once said, an artistic principle exemplified by her 2016 breakthrough, , a set of lustrous, Americana/country-folk songs about her largely itinerant existence. Written with journal-entry candour and a reflective mindset, it played as strikingly accomplished and mature. It was also the Phoenix native’s fifth album, following a string of coffee-house folk releases in a career launched when she was just 15. There have been two albums since, plus her debut poetry collection, published last year. Now comes , another telling title that marks the opening of a fresh chapter in Andrews’ lived story.
