What crew need to know

his summer, heading up to Oban via Kinsale (don’t ask!) we had an excellent companion: a new boat owner himself, great company and keen to absorb skippering and navigational wisdom from Paul, a veteran of AZAB, OSTAR, Cape Horn and a determination to sail round any land mass that catches his fancy (latterly Iceland). He knows stuff, from seacocks to satnavs, and though not inclined to be a preacher will part with such knowledge when pressed.
