‘Big names’ caught on camera, and together in Scotland

Jonathan Sanger of Swansea sent me a note recently to point out that Steam World Consultant Editor Nigel Harris was not the only well-known railway personality caught on film in that issue. Says Jonathan, ‘On page 6ofthe August Steam World attention is drawn to Nigel Harris in the photograph taken at Woodham’s Barry scrapyard in the 1970s by Mike Walker.

On the previous page, in the double spread photograph of the ‘Scottish Rambler’ railtour on April 15 1963, on the far left side, is the great railway photographer and writer, Derek Cross.’

He goes on to say that the The second half of the DVD records several Scottish railtours that Easter weekend, with Derek escorting Ivo around Scotland.
