Elusive gas

Like Colin Kennington (Sept, p11), I too have experienced the ineptitude of Calor when it comes to obtaining an exchange refilled cylinder.

Three times I have been to my local supplier, the excellent Sudbury Caravans, only to be told it had no gas available.

On one occasion I was told a delivery was promised for the next week, but on returning there was no Calor.

Luckily, I also have a Flogas cylinder and was able to obtain a replacement for that one with no trouble.

Now, for the irony, yesterday through the post I received a glossy brochure from Calor wanting me to explore ditching my reliable home oil heating in favour of an LPG system! Needless to say, the brochure went straight in the bin!

Update needed

My 2020 motorhome has a Garmin sat-nav on a Kenwood unit (DNX5190DABS), and keeps informing me the unit requires updating. The only way to update is via a computer and, try as I might, I do not understand much of the technical instructions.

I was pretty sure this would not be a part made by Dethleffs itself, but was something it would have ordered in from an automotive light manufacturer.

I contacted Bowers, which identified it as a Jokon light, and ordered it at a cost of £74.75 including VAT. Quite a saving over Dethleffs!

This light also serves as a brake light. Once I had the part
