Carla Corsino

Belonging to the ‘third culture kid’ or a child who grows up in a culture different from the one where her parents grew up, Carla Corsino faced many major challenges. The biggest for her was, and still is, having an identity crisis on a cultural level. She could not answer a question as simple as ‘Where is home?’ when asked where she’s from as there was never an easy or direct answer.

Whenever she explains it, she usually goes with: “I was born in the Philippines, but I was raised in the US.” It was the most straightforward reply she could throw back when being asked by the question.
