Home Made

Many people say that the best Filipino food can be found at home. It’s most likely true, as the key ingredient to any hearty heritage dish is love. Instead of your usual buffet style spread, welcome family and friends with an elegant lunch serving modern riffs on some local delicacies. The inspiration behind this table is the Anahaw leaf, with a runner featuring a chic tropical pattern and the actual fronds used with the charger. Touches of rustic wood and rattan are mixed with mother-of-pearl and gilded bamboo cutlery for a sophisticated setting.

FILIPINO APPETISER PLATTER

It’s always nice to have some nibbles while waiting for guests to arrive. This platter is designed to have an array of little things to pick on; however, just two of these would do. Throw in some very good chicharon—pork cracklings—with some excellent sinamak vinegar and you’re good to go. Consider serving the kinilaw in Chinese spoons or little shot glasses for individual bites.
