Planning a Layout – Part 1

s I’m currently facing the prospect of building a new layout in a shed built specifically for the purpose, I might be forgiven for having the process of layout planning in mind recently. There’s no specific plan for a new layout, but I do have a few items on a list, of things I don’t want and mistakes I don’t wish to repeat. I’ll leave the building and design considerations of the layout space for another time. However, for some of the upcoming ‘In the Loop’ columns I’ll set out my approach to developing a track plan. In this column I’m going to cover determining my priorities, the second part will cover selecting a prototype with the following column or columns looking at turning this background information into a workable track plan.
