From camping to glamping

My first camping trip was to Khwai in Botswana – a real rough-and-ready experience without any ablution facilities whatsoever. Our setup was basic but I took it in my stride and today, 12 years later, I too camp for a living. I absolutely love camping, but have learnt the hard way that it is only enjoyable when you have the right equipment! Simon had to make some adjustments when I joined him full-time about six years ago since… well, I’m a girl and we like the little luxuries in life, don’t we?

Back then we had a basic ground tent with stretchers, massive fold-up mattresses that took up more space than a baby elephant would, and camping chairs that took up even more space.
