Since his early years of art study at Stellenbosch and photography in Munich, Obie has chased image-making with relentless enthusiasm and energy – his approach is mixed with photographic passion. His fascination with images and curiosity about the world combines with a single-minded pursuit of excellence, something that at times haunts him awake at night. A pictorial storyteller, he says he shoots what he loves and couldn't give a hoot about the art.
