IN 1922, Britain’s most prestigious show was the Scottish National, which had continued to take place uninterrupted by the First World War. Cage Birds, being London-based, was keen to promote the claims of an “English National”, and it was in this year that it was revived after the War, at Crystal Palace (see page 22).
