Eraser Heads

Over eight studio albums and more than 15 years, German post-rockers Long Distance Calling have become the most successful instrumental group in their home country. Their last full-length, How Do We Want To Live? explored the relationship between humans and AI. It was the band’s first foray into a conceptual release, although 2018’s Boundless had a theme of sorts too: the many meanings of ‘freedom’. Boundless had marked their return to being an instrumental band after years with a vocalist, and without words to express a message, the quartet found that writing around a theme gave them valuable direction.
