THE market for electric cars has experienced extraordinary change in the past 10 years. We’ve gone from there being only a smattering of options available – some of them not particularly convincing – to every major player offering an EV while busying themselves with the transition to a range of cars that are all electrified to some degree.

EVs are now available in multiple body styles, with prices ranging from less than £30,000 to sixfigure sums for the plushest mainstream options. For the super-rich, they can run into multiple millions for boutique electric hypercars.
