VOLKSWAGEN NEW BEETLE (1998-2011)

product of VW’s new American Design Centre, the New Beetle was first unveiled in concept form in 1994, with the production version that arrived four years later being little different. In shape and proportions it bore little resemblance to the original Beetle, and since it sat on a Golf platform it was mechanically the complete opposite. But its arched window area, chubby wing shapes, ovoid lights, flared sills and smiling bonnet seam were all enough to get people’s nostalgic neurons
