What were some of the key diplomatic events that led to the creation of the League Of Nations?

Most directly, the League grew out of the destruction and loss of the First World War, and therefore the series of diplomatic efforts both to end that war and to prevent another of its kind. Most famously, we think of the Paris Peace Conferences of 1919 and the subsequent treaties (the Versailles Treaty, among others).
