HAVING A VENT

While on a recent caravan trip, we were setting up for the night when we discovered that the top refrigerator vent was missing.

We assume that the suction produced by a passing truck pulled the vent off our van. This left a large hole which was a potential source of damage if we had rain. Luckily, a caring stranger cut a piece of laminate to size for us, which I was able to screw over the hole to protect the van until we were able to source a replacement.

The fridge vent has a frame that is securely screwed to the van. However, the vent cover is less securely attached. The cover we lost is a large size Thetford model, approximately 52cm x 29cm, which is only held on by four tabs at the bottom of its matching frame and two plastic slides that clip at the top.
