STOKE ROW STEAM RALLY

he Stoke Row Steam Rally returned for its 39th show with record attendance, writes . The show featured over 800 exhibits with steam engines, tractors, cars, motorcycles, stationary engines, trucks, military, plant machinery and garden tractors all set in glorious fields owned by Richard Hazell at Whitchurch Hill. Over 6000 people attended, making it a record year and the lovely weather made for a great weekend. An action-packed ring saw exhibits out on display including 80 steam engines, led in by a marching band, before competing in a traditional slow race and finishing with a full whistle salute before a Hurricane flew over to celebrate the Battle of Britain. The craft and model tent was kept busy with record entries along with military and western reenactment groups. Next year’s show will mark the 40th of the Stoke Row Rally on June 10-11, 2023.
