TICK TOCK

BEHIND THE PROJECT

SEPTEMBER ARRIVES

“This cosy clock, rich with warm autumnal colour patchwork, showcases Cyril, a friendly squirrel looking for blackberries, with his friend Pat, the Stonechat, all sewn with free-motion embroidery. Appliquéd acorns, blackberries and autumn leaves create a wreath around the pair. The panel is finished as a round clock using an adhesive kit by Needcraft, widely available. I chose Cyril the Squirrel as the main feature, as his colours are perfect for autumn. I like to use scrappy fabrics for my backgrounds and the plain border draws the eye in to the circular appliqué design.” – Andrea Walpole
