I’m a 60-something Pa¯keha¯ woman who is trying to engage with Ma¯ori language and culture as much as I can so I can live respectfully amongst Ma¯ori colleagues and neighbours. I’m grateful to the Tipene family for teaching all their viewers so much about both these things in their poignant but also hilarious show. I’m so glad they’ve had a family holiday and also to read they are trying to spend more time with their children by sharing the load at work (, Aug 29). Success isn’t all
