ALL STEAMED UP IN WARWICKSHIRE

All eyes in the miniature stream world turned to the Echills Wood Railway in mid-May for a superb gathering of engines that attracted a large number of visitors to the site. Situated at Kingsbury Water Park near Sutton Coldfield, the railway itself has a running track of some 2km and runs a variety of trains over its 7¼in gauge track. Many locomotives are owned by members, with standard gauge locomotives being used, while narrow-gauge locomotives along with diesel and electric variants also take to the track with trains operating every few minutes.

But the visiting road engines took centre stage at the railway’s miniature steam weekend, and what a line-up there was.
