Unlike sight or touch, olfactory information is stored in your subconscious, where the message gets sent to your emotional brain. That’s why smells linger in the mind and have the power to trigger strong emotions in an instant.

I’ve worn the same fragrance for years: Byredo Super Cedar. I’ll always remember a bride dressed in her spectacular wedding gown, walking into a room where I was waiting to paint her face, and the heavenly fragrance surrounding her.
