MOOD BOARD
The first step in renovating your home is deciding what you want, and that involves lots of visual research… and a moodboard. Here’s how to create one from scratch
GATHER
Collect inspo images from magazines and Pinterest as well as product samples, fabric and paint swatches, tile and flooring options, and hardware or finish samples.
CURATE
Collate all the samples in one place and discard anything that jars or feels ‘wrong’. Aim for a balance of colours and materials with a touch of contrast and texture.
VIBE CHECK
Consider how the moodboard makes you feel. Does it match with the ambience you want your space to have?
TEST
If you can, take your moodboard into the space you’re going to renovate. Stick wallpaper samples and fabric swatches to the walls to see how they look in the available light. Make sure the test is easily reversible.
