THE CHECK UP

Medical myths examined

Screening: TVNZ 1, 8.00pm

In an era when medical misinformation seems to be the most infectious thing of all, the return of The Check Up is timely. The show’s team of doctors – Mataroria Lyndon, Shawn Gielen-Relph, Jayani Kannangara, and newcomer Vanisi Prescott – explore various medical questions and the myths and misconceptions around them. In this season, that includes everything from meningococcal disease and HPV screening to sexual dysfunction and auditory illusions.
