A YEAR TO LIVE

Shrugging my shoulders, I pushed the cake around the plate with my fork.

Quite frankly, sweet treats other kids would devour in seconds didn’t interest me in the slightest.

Only, if there was a lump of cheese in front of me it would be gone in seconds – that was my guilty pleasure.

Being diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of two, my mobility was restricted compared to my friends, affecting mainly the right side of my body.

Yet, this didn’t stop me.

Despite hitting milestones like crawling, walking, and running a lot later than others my age, I enjoyed being active.

Concentrating on horse riding and swimming.

I mean I’d often forget to kick my legs in the pool, but I’d give it a good go!
