California gleaming

Most petrolhead dads must dream of building a project car with their son, but circumstances often conspire against it. [Or, disappointingly, your offspring is just not into cars! – MP]. But Craig Stevenson in Lancaster has lived the dream. If you’re looking at the pictures thinking I’m sure Lancaster gets more rain than that backdrop suggests, then you’re right. However, this particular Lancaster is just north of Los Angeles, California, which explains the rather different skies overhead.

Craig bought his first Beetle when he was 22, and has owned a veritable army of them since. He’s now heading north of 70 and has no intention of stopping any time soon, this ’56 being the latest in a long line of Volkswagens to roll out of the Stevenson family garage.
