Cluttered pontoons
The increase in boat ownership following the pandemic has obviously resulted in increased competition for berthing in harbours. While this just has to be accepted as part of the cruising life (we anchor instead), what doesn’t have to be accepted is the lack of awareness of boating etiquette, particularly on dinghy pontoons when taking the tender ashore.
Both last season and this, we’ve been consistently frustrated by tenders tied on very short lines, sometimes both fore and aft. One such was even chained to the pontoon at both ends, completely preventing access by others. Attempts to tactfully explain the reasons for using a long line are often greeted with
