Equality in sport is gathering momentum. Season seven of the AFLW (which kicks off on August 25) welcomes four new clubs to the comp, while in July, the first-ever Tour de France Femmes saw riders cover 1,029km across eight stages. And, as the 2022 launch of the ParaMatildas – Australia’s national soccer team for women and girls with cerebral palsy (CP), acquired brain injury and symptoms of stroke – has shown, more athletes than ever are being granted pathways that previously eluded them. The stars ahead are at the forefront of this movement, using their platforms to inspire the next generation.
