OBA 100

Congratulations Jim and the pit crew at Old Bike Australasia. The modern day motorcycle can reach 0 to 100 in under 6 seconds, but old bikes seem to take a bit longer. And during the last 16 years the speedo needle’s nearly hitting the ton, but what a ride. I remember being at the newsagent the day you rolled out your first concept motorcycle, with a fascination to engage and employ the minds of motorcyclists around Australia. Your machine which has taken us on this journey was not of steel, alloy, cast iron or rubber – it was in the form of print and paper. Now as we back the throttle off to reflect, check out the rear vision mirror, tap down one gear, we see the past and now look forward to that sensation only motorcyclists can enjoy. Clutch in, toe up, clutch out and see what’s around the bend. To many who can’t ride motor bikes anymore, their toe down, clutch in, and toe up is a visit to their local news-agents. And isn’t that motorcycling. For those who are on the ride and the many yet to join us, thanks Jim.
