Blooming marvellous
There must be millions of floral photographs taken every day, but a new edition of Flora Photographica (the first edition was published 1991), probably isn’t what you might expect.
In fact, it seems likely that few people would associate the humble flower with the breadth of subjects and genres displayed within the book. That’s exactly what the authors William A Ewing (who wrote the original book) and Danaé Panchaud (new to the project) were hoping for. I was able to catch up with Danaé to find out more about the process of putting together such an impressive and intriguing volume.
Having been just over 30 years since the original book, and 20 since a revised edition, William (aka Bill) felt that the time was right for a new volume.
