WHAT could be more Kiwi than this? The 4th NZ Drag Racing Nationals were held on 29th December 1969 on Galatea Road at the foot of the Matahina Hydro Dam just up the road a few clicks from Squeak's Onepu/Te Teko property. The meeting was promoted by NZHRA and the Whakatane Jaycees, with Auckland Hot Rod club members running the meeting on the day. NZHRM's Allan Porter was there to capture the action, and a three-page report was published in our February 1970 mag.
