Reaping the rewards

Walking through beds filled with abundance, it amazes me to think that just six months ago this was all weedy grass when we moved to West Wales. We have harvested so much food already, and I am busy now sowing and pricking out so that cropping will continue through winter and into next spring.

I am noticing that Wales in September is damper than Somerset. The mists, known locally as ‘dragons’ breath’, hang heavy in the morning and it takes a while for the day to warm up, but looking on the bright side this is helping keep the garden fresh and reduces watering.
