Hempsall Farm — where you can imagine the whole world is vegan

Just north of Cambridge, among the peaceful, ancient fenlands, lies Hempsall Farm. But this is no ordinary farm, it’s a 100 per cent vegan glamping site and a place where owners, Pippa and Stuart, offer sanctuary to rescue animals.

“We took the huge leap of faith by insisting that no animal products are consumed on site. While we could be fully booked three times over if we removed that rule, for us the ‘vegan only’ food rule is essential. But it goes beyond the food. We are a safe haven for vegans who don’t want to have to explain where they get their protein or defend their compassionate lifestyle choices,” explains site owner Pippa Davis.

Imagine being surrounded by other like-minded people. A holiday should be all about relaxing, after all, but how often, as a vegan, do you find yourself anxious that you won’t have suitable choices available to you, or you’ll have to be ‘the awkward one’ who asks for a special menu or different duvet?
