    BROADCASTING MERGER

    Although we don’t know the final shape of our new public media landscape in Aotearoa, it seems certain that we will remain tied to a lowest-common-denominator, commercially oriented “flagship” TV channel.

    I am writing from Brisbane, where I have just had the privilege of watching Leigh show on ABC, after a run of 12 years. has no co-presenter, and hence no mindless “banter”. Current affairs stories are straight and to the point; they are always fascinating and informative.
