When feathers fly

E were thrilled when, some years ago, a pair of house martins built a nest under our eaves and raised a brood. However, they were chased away the following year by our aggressive sparrows, which promptly took over the nest and eventually broke it. The martins tried again the next year, this time deliberately building the nest higher up in a less obvious spot, only to be turfed out once more.), I am delighted to report that, this year, the martins have returned, rebuilt their nest, bravely fought off the sparrow threat and thus enriched my early mornings with their melodious twitter. Does anyone else have dive-bombing sparrows?
