Smart people tell me that artificial intelligence is the future. Someday all of the mundane tasks I perform, like driving my old pickup, mowing my lawn, and writing ridiculous, pointless columns will be done more efficiently, more quickly, and more pointlessly by machines.

I hope that I live to see the moment that this all happens, then drop dead on the spot grinning like an idiotpeople!” I’ll type (ironically) in my last column. Then I’ll hit the floor with a dull thud, like a sack of mulch thrown out of my pickup onto my freshly mowed lawn.
