Quilters Companion

Armchair Travels

My poor passport has been very neglected over the last few years. The last time it left the house for an overseas journey was at the end of 2019. In March 2020, Quilters Companion and Travelrite planned to host a quilting retreat in Tuscany. Due to circumstances beyond our control, it was postponed until June 2023. I had not seen very much of Italy and had never been to Greece, so I thought I should do a little research prior to the tour. Off I toddled at the end of 2019 to investigate the countries and towns. WOW!

Where to start? Rome? Why not! This wonderful city is everything you have ever imagined, and more! If you stay central and don’t mind walking, you can visit most of the main attractions on foot. Start the day by walking past the exquisite Trevi Fountain, which is as white and turquoise in reality as you have seen it in and take a stroll up the steps for a view over the city, but do not sit on the steps — it’s now illegal to do so.
