Wreaths and Berries
This richly-coloured Christmas quilt was inspired by the traditional appliqué quilts of the 19th century. Susan has designed an original block that she has called Wreaths and Berries and the entire quilt is made by hand — needleturn appliqué, hand pieced and hand quilted. If you get started now, it could be decorating your home for Christmas 2022.

Materials
• 5.1m (5¾yd) solid white fabric*• 70cm (⅞yd) solid green fabric*• 60cm (¾yd) solid red fabric*• 4m (4⅜yd) backing fabric• Batting at least 200cm (80in) square• Threads to match the green and red fabrics• Appliqué pins or glue• Template plastic and fine permanent-marking pen• Karen Kay Buckley’s Perfect Circles (optional) — otherwise some scraps of cardboard• Spray starch• Sharp pencil• Rotary cutter, quilter’s ruler and mat• Sewing machine with ¼in foot• General sewing supplies
