amela Anderson was working in fitness and had a few gigs as an extra in Canadian films and TV shows under her belt when, at age 22, she turned heads while featuring on a Jumbotron at a football game wearing a cut-off Labatt’s Beer T-shirt. She was hired as magazine. “ empowered me. It really saved my life,” Anderson, who has been open about the sexual abuse she suffered as a child, reflected in 2016 after appearing in the magazine for a record-breaking 14th time. “I felt very trapped inside and needed to free myself. It was a breakthrough for me… it has been a fun and wild life.”
