Pio Abad Fear of Freedom Makes Us See Ghosts

Pio Abad’s ten-year project looking at the legacy of the “conjugal dictatorship” of Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos culminated in the exhibition “Fear of Freedom Makes Us See Ghosts.” Installed before the 2022 Philippines national election and on view until after the inauguration of the former dictator’s son to the presidential office on June 30, it arrived at the Ateneo Art Gallery at a critical time for the country.
