TO TELL THE TRUTH

Earlier this year, on The Late Show, Stephen Colbert asked TV anchorman Chris Wallace why the media is so distrusted. Wallace’s surprising answer: “In a funny way, I’d blame my father.” He was referring of course to Mike Wallace, the legendary journalist best known for 60 Minutes.

“It used to be in the oldcame along and showed you could make phenomenal amounts of money with the news business. When you look at what goes on everywhere [today], particularly cable — on the left as well as the right — people are chasing audiences.”
