Long-lost Peter Gabriel soundtrack features in painter’s retrospective.

One of Britain’s most respected figurative painters, Graham Dean has enjoyed a career spanning more than 40 years. Originally an enfant terrible working in a more naturalistic style – his 1975 depicted the Queen sitting in exile, surrounded by cheap souvenirs from London gift shops – Dean met Peter Gabriel in the mid-70s. The singer was looking to explore the possibilities of video art, and the two men formed a friendship. Dean asked Gabriel to compose music for his 1981 exhibition, – the former Genesis man’s first foray into the world of soundtracks.
