Located downtown near REI are man-made chutes for kayaking and other water activities. Rent tubes from Confluence Kayaks and start floating down the rapids in style (confluencekayaks.com). Here you must get out and carry your tube to repeat the whitewater section.

A little over an hour outside Denver, the South Platte has more speed as it streams down from the Rockies above. Between Cheesman Reservoir and Decker’s and Trumbull, float down
