Bloom and grow

This month in the Anschutz and. Anchoring the exhibition is by DRIFT, a captivating kinetic sculpture that transforms the space into an interactive floral canopy that reacts to the visitors as if they were the sun. The upside-down landscape of mechanical flowers open and close in an unscripted choreography, adapting to their surroundings via integrated sensors that translate the presence of humans into different “moods.” Drawing inspiration from the dynamic cycles of the seasons, the experiential installation blurs the lines between the organic and the engineered, redefining our interaction with the art and the environment. And it’s just one part of the expansive showcase, which brings together more than 80 imaginative works that collectively highlight the transformative power of nature. Organized by Darrin Alfred, curator of Architecture and Design, provides a space for leading architects, artists, and designers to re-examine and reanimate our intrinsic bond with the natural world.
