Regal reign for young jockey

TOWARDS the end of a sweltering second day, Lilly Ahern-Lee rushed from ring to ring and her efforts were rewarded, as the 10-year-old rider clinched the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) show pony and mini mountain and moorland (M&M) championships.

Lilly’s day started early with a 128cm win riding Team Ahern’s Barossa Royalist. The Cusop Dimension six-year-old was bought from Julie Templeton during lockdown and this is his debut season.
