    TOWARDS the end of a sweltering second day, Lilly Ahern-Lee rushed from ring to ring and her efforts were rewarded, as the 10-year-old rider clinched the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) show pony and mini mountain and moorland (M&M) championships.

    Lilly’s day started early with a 128cm win riding Team Ahern’s Barossa Royalist. The Cusop Dimension six-year-old was bought from Julie Templeton during lockdown and this is his debut season.

    Royalist has landed running, as after taking the tricolours at British Show Pony Society Area 2B and Cheshire Premier, he again produced a great performance. This was his first
