“AS a trainer, I was excited. I knew they had a good chance, ” said Matt Hicks of his protégé Dylan Deutrom and San Marco – winners of the prix st georges (PSG), inter I and freestyle, the latter with 77.12%. “We were hoping for top three finishes, but to win all three – and to get that freestyle score – was amazing.

“Watching their freestyle made me and my partner cry, and I never cry. Perhaps it was a bit of tiredness.”
