“How do Canon photographers capture action photos in low light?”

BRIAN SAYS… In low light or bright light, the typical requirement for action photos is a fast shutter speed. As the light level drops, the way to fast shutter speeds is wide-aperture lenses with higher ISO settings. At sporting events, you’ll see professional photographers using lenses with f/2.8 aperture as their standard for faster shutter speeds and maximum quality.

The higher ISO settings are the most noisy, but sensible post processing of your images can minimize the visible effect of the noise. Take care to be selective with sharpening, particularly avoiding over-sharpening out-of-focus shadows. If you have a great action shot, the action is the important part and no one else with the same
